Management of Regional airports, generally identified as having less than one million passengers per year, represents, today more than ever, one of the most complex challenges due to their difficult financial sustainability.

In many cases national airport plans favor the use of public funding for larger airports, leaving the burden of funding regional airports to local authorities. Over the last decade the situation of these airports has not improved despite the significant increase in traffic achieved with the introduction of routes operated by low-cost carriers.

Even if they have very limited resources, regional airports are necessarily subject to the same standards to passengers, safety and security, of the major airports. Hence this causes an economic imbalance that affects the development of these airports and compromises the role to serve their catchment area populations.

For all these airports we have developed a number of  “customized” services to support the Management Company in the burden of ensuring high standards of safety, security and customer service.

Our approach to the issue is global in order to be able to assist various airports in the various areas; we use our expertise to provide management companies of smaller airports  solutions to meet the challenges, despite the limited resources available and the difficult company cash-flow.

From the ability to act as a “remote” technical office to support the needs of design and maintenance managers, to the provision of the following services:

  • Aeronautical Obstacles Survey for Obstacle Maps and AIP Publications
  • Runway friction testing
  • Pavement evaluation and PCN assessment

Air Alliance is able to set up an Airport Pavement Management System having a complexity compatible with the infrastructures of regional Airports and such as to enable them to monitor the condition of the pavements and to plan maintenance works. These services are organized in flexible combination packages tailored to the needs of each airport operator and offered at affordable rates and with flexible payment conditions.
