Risk Assessment includes all the necessary analysis for quantifying the risk associated with the deviation from an applicable aeronautical standard. These analysis are required both to verify that a certain risk is acceptable as well as to define possible mitigation measures of the same.

Air Alliance has carried out this type of analysis in several situations:

• in the assessment of obstacles to air navigation;
• in the risk of electromagnetic interference;
• in situations of reduced pavement friction levels;
• in cases where horizontal markings or lights did not fully comply with the applicable standards;
• in situations of anomalies of strip areas or RESA areas.

ICAO recommends the adoption of risk assessment analysis whenever aeronautical infrastructure or operational conditions deviate from the applicable standards.
